Geometry can be fun if taught with hands-on materials at an early age. Montessori Print Shop has high-quality geometry printables that are perfect for ages 3-6 (in addition to their geometry printables for elementary students).
Disclosure: Montessori Print Shop is one of my blog sponsors. I was given a copy of the Montessori Print Shop Primary Geometry Bundle. My opinion is honest and my own. This post also contains some affiliate links (at no cost to you).

Examples from the Montessori Print Shop Primary Geometry Bundle
Here are just a very few ideas using some of the printables from the Primary Geometry Bundle.
Shapes in Nature
This is a layout of the Montessori Print Shop Shapes in Nature Sorting Cards. I love that it encourages new ways of viewing nature. My 6-year-old grandson was fascinated by the examples used in the cards. The set also includes a control chart.
Geometry Cabinet Control Charts (Perfect for DIY Geometric Cabinet) and Angles Book
This is part of my DIY geometric cabinet … perfect for home use! I love using the Montessori Print Shop Geometry Cabinet Control Sheets (only $3 for the set) as “geometric cabinet trays.” I printed out two copies of each and cut out one set and traced it on blue craft foam to make the matching shapes. For storage, I put the pieces of each tray along with the control chart for that tray in a page protector. All the page protectors easily fit in the magazine file folders I use to organize my printables. It’s perfect budget-wise and for any home with limited space!
The Angles Book is for older children, so I wouldn’t use it for children who aren’t very comfortable with the triangle tray. I think a study of triangles (and angles where appropriate) is especially helpful for the detective adjective game. The Detective Adjective Game Command Cards, Detective Adjective Game Triangles, and Detective Adjective Game Triangle Outlines are included in the Primary Geometry Bundle. The detective adjective game (not shown here) is a great activity for both geometry and grammar!
Geometric Solids Sorting
This is my 6-year-old grandson, Caleb, working with the Montessori geometric solids from Alison’s Montessori and Montessori Print Shop Geometric Solid Sorting.
Even though Caleb has worked with geometric solids a number of times, this printable gives a fun way to review the solids. A control chart comes with the printables for children to check their work.
Geometric Solids Command Cards
My grandkids love scavenger hunts! We have one for almost every major holiday! The Montessori Print Shop Geometric Solid Command Cards have a lot of options from finding specific geometric solids in a basket (ours are in a bag that was in a basket) to finding a cylinder that’s not a Montessori material in the room to choosing two solids that when put together create an object (and naming the object). There are 5 pages of command cards (50 cards total) with a variety of fun ideas!
Caleb liked using our Montessori Services mystery bag and blindfold to find each geometric solid in the bag. He’s a great reader, so he read the commands himself by lifting up the blindfold to read each new command. This would work well with pre-readers if the adult or an older child reads the commands.
