Table washing is a popular practical life activity in Montessori education. There can be a long series of steps to help preschoolers develop concentration. For toddlers, the process can be greatly simplified. Today, I’m sharing a simple Montessori table washing activity for toddlers along with ideas for babies (and younger toddlers) and preschoolers.
Simple Montessori Table Washing for Toddlers – Video
In this 15-second video, you’ll see a simple table-washing activity for toddlers who are able to use a spray bottle. My 21-month-old granddaughter, Zoey, shows her table-washing activity, starting with getting the tray from her snack cupboard.
At the end of her table washing, Zoey returns the tray and spray bottle to the cabinet. Her dirty dishes go in the basket on the left in the bottom cabinet, and her dirty table-washing cloths go in the basket on the right.
