I’m Joining the Ultimate Blog Party!

I’m a bit late in joining – but I can’t resist! What a great way to make some new online friends! My first blogiversary is coming up on April 13 and I’ve been happily busy with my First Blogiversary Giveaway of $580 (over $2000 if purchased individually) worth of digital materials from Montessori Print Shop!

Here’s some information about me and my blog:

I’m Deb Chitwood, a Montessori educator/writer and mom of two grown children. I homeschooled my kids through high school, and they both have college degrees and still have a love of learning (thanks to Montessori).

I have my Montessori certification for teaching children ages 2½-5 through the St. Nicholas Training Centre in London, now called Montessori Centre International. In addition to traditional Montessori certification, I’m certified to teach two Montessori-based religious-education programs: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Godly Play.

My bachelor’s degree from Antioch University is in Liberal Studies with my concentration in Montessori Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I received my MA in Early Childhood Studies from Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield, England, with my degree work and dissertation largely focused on Montessori education. I’m also the author of a 1983 children’s book, The Magic Ring.

At Living Montessori Now, I write about Montessori education, homeschooling, and parenting in general. I love sharing my experiences and encouraging parents and teachers. I also love doing online research and enjoy sharing links to great ideas and blogs I find during my online research.

I typically add at least one activity post each day. At the Raising Figure Skaters Facebook page, I add an inspirational Quote of the Day. At the new Spring Snow Publications Facebook page, I link to a daily tip for writers.
