Montessori Monday – DIY Montessori Teen and Ten Boards

September 2, 2013 By Deb Chitwood 8 Comments

DIY Montessori Teen and Ten BoardsFor Montessori homeschools, many of the traditional Montessori materials work well as DIY materials. To save money, many Montessori homeschoolers make their own Seguin (teen and ten) boards.

DIY wooden teen and ten boards can look very professional, but there are simple-to-prepare teen and teen boards that could work well, too. You could just choose whichever type fits with your level of comfort with woodworking and the amount of use you expect the teen and ten boards to get.

You’ll find printables and directions for teaching teens and tens in the Montessori at Home Ebook (included in The Montessori At Home! eBook & Materials Bundle.)

I have a roundup post on DIY Bead Bars for making bead bars that can be used with the teen and ten boards.

Teen and Ten Board Presentations

My Works Montessori has “Montessori Math Lesson – Teen Board.”

Montessori Primary Guide has presentations for teens and tens.

Montessori Album has an overview of Montessori math, teen board presentation and a price comparison of teen boards from various companies, and ten board presentation and a price comparison of ten boards from various companies.

For a list of all my roundup posts with Montessori-material-making tutorials, see my DIY Montessori Materials post.
