The Very Best Montessori-Friendly Books for Babies and Toddlers

March 23, 2015 By Deb Chitwood 3 Comments

There are many Montessori-friendly books for babies and toddlers available to purchase. But I think the very best Montessori-friendly books for babies and toddlers are designed by a loved one.

What Are Montessori-Friendly Books for Babies and Toddlers?

If you read my “Best Montessori-Friendly Books for Babies {Gift Guide},” you’ll see that Montessori-friendly books for babies and toddlers have realistic images. The books might have real pictures or drawings, but they don’t have fantasy or smiling- or talking animals. Babies and toddlers are learning about their world, so it’s most helpful for their books to show reality. In the post, you’ll find recommendations for Montessori-friendly books for babies. Those books are also good for toddlers.

Special Time with The Very Best Montessori-Friendly Books for Babies and Toddlers

I own lots of Montessori-friendly books for babies and toddlers, but Zoey (my 16-month-old granddaughter) and I have our definite favorites. Both Zoey’s and my very favorite books are the ones Zoey’s mom, Chea, made. Chea has made photo books featuring Zoey at ages 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months.

We have a number of special family photo books from Shutterfly and similar companies. These would make perfect Mother’s Day gifts for grandmas as well as Christmas or birthday gifts for grandparents!

It does take work to put together photo books, but it’s worth it. Most Montessori-friendly books can give a vocabulary lesson when you talk about the pictures with your baby or toddler. But what other Montessori-friendly books

  • are a wonderful record for your baby’s first year,
  • make a perfect gift for grandparents,
  • help your baby or toddler learn the names of relatives who are in the photos,
  • and help your baby or toddler feel extra special as the star of his or her own books?

Check out our YouTube video to see how we use Zoey’s photo books:

Have you made photo books for your baby or toddler?
