I believe it’s important to teach about a variety of holidays and cultural celebrations to help children appreciate their culture and others. Today, I’m reviewing the Montessori Print Shop Holidays and Celebrations Bundle, which makes make it easy to introduce a variety of celebrations.

This image shows a simple way to display the control cards and booklet with book from the National Geographic Holidays Around the World series we’ve enjoyed.
Note: I love the Amazing Child Montessori cards display box for displaying 3-part cards (without taking up much room on my shelf), and it works well for the celebrations teaching cards and control booklet, too!

The teaching cards are 5″x 4″ to be used by the teacher to discuss the holiday/celebration and then made accessible to the children to view at their leisure.
The booklet contains the same information and pictures as the teaching cards but is printed on 1 sheet of paper. Cut the sheet into 6 small pages to create a booklet, staple, and give to each child to take home.

Earth Day Books and Montessori Print Shop Celebration Printables
With Earth Day coming up on April 22, I found it easy to prepare an activity for my daughter (Chrissy Chitwood) and son-in-law’s children to do together. If I were to put the celebration materials on a tray, I’d probably set it up like the tray above. It could be used at a table or rug.
Reading Earth Day Books Before Working with Earth Day Materials with His Little Sister
Arabella is 2 and Caleb is 8. They enjoyed working on the activity with Caleb reading the books and cutting out the cards for two booklets. He helped Arabella staple her booklet together, which she loved. Arabella, like many toddlers and preschoolers, loves little booklets!
