Free Math Downloads from KHT Montessori

February 1, 2017 By Deb Chitwood

If you’re a parent or preschool teacher, you might be wondering how to teach young children using Montessori methods. I have two free math downloads today that are perfect for teaching preschoolers. KHT Montessori is letting me host two examples of materials from the KHT math album. The numerals and counters presentation from the math album along with printable numerals and counters cards can be used as a first introduction to Montessori numerals and counters!

FREE Math Downloads from KHT Montessori

Free Numerals and Counters Presentation from KHT Montessori

This is one of the traditional Montessori math presentations. You can download 3 pages from the KHT Montessori math album here.

Free Numerals and Dots Cards from KHT Montessori

Numerals and Dots (Flashcards) printable has a great suggestion for use:
“Put together a basket containing 55 small objects. Have the child place one object on each of the red dots.”

This is a wonderful idea for children who aren’t quite ready to complete the traditional numerals and counters from 1-10. And it could easily be adapted for a theme, using exactly 55 of an object related to your current theme if you use a theme (or to the current season or holiday).

Download the numerals and dots cards here.

KHT Montessori (Updated Information)

Karen Tyler of KHT Montessori is AMS (American Montessori Society) certified and taught an online Montessori teacher training course for people who were unable to take formal Montessori training and Montessori teachers wanting to refresh their Montessori training. Karen has helped so many people through her KHT Montessori course! She retired in 2022. The freebies she generously gave to my readers are still available through my blog posts.

Her set of 12 teaching albums is still available to buy but only through Alison’s Montessori. You can buy the 12 Montessori albums from Karen Tyler (now listed under Alison’s Montessori Manuals) here.

    Hi Deb!

I am currently enrolled in Karen’s course BECAUSE of your recommendation! I had researched for months to find an online course that would be of the highest quality and give me a thorough education since it was not feasible to attend a Montessori training center. It was your candid review and recommendation which made up my mind and gave me the confidence to enroll. I was skeptical because of the low, low price in comparison to other programs. I am continually amazed at the content from KHT and through my interactions with Karen, I am completely confident recommending this course to anyone who is trying to decide! (Even if you don’t win, it is well worth the price and the time commitment! You will never regret this decision.) Because of the affordability, I am able to supplement my program with quality Montessori teachings without needing to pass on an enormous cost because my training cost is only a fraction of the price. I am grateful to be able to expose more children to Montessori methods and concepts. If I am lucky enough to win, I would use the money to purchase Montessori materials for my classroom! Good luck to all!

My cousin works in another country doing Montessori and I had the chance to experience a few lessons when I helped out. It was really great seeing the kids having fun learning at their own pace. I would especially love letting my little man have the opportunity to also learn at his own pace and gain independence with Montessori. I’ve always wanted to teach children but never had the opportunity to get any qualifications or certifications which allowed me to do so. Aand now that we have our 12 week old son it seems the perfect opportunity and time to learn so that I can teach him. My husband and I both experienced different ways of learning; I went to private school and he went to public. And we both agree that we never found the best way for us to thrive in that environment. Based on both of our experiences with school, it would be amazing to see our little man being able to learn in a completely innovative and bespoke way which best suits him and his developmental needs.

    Hello,
For the last year I’ve been seriously considering taking a montessori course and recently found out about KHT from a friend. I’ve been working as a kindergarten teacher for 9 years but since having my son I’ve seen how children naturally learn and how the montessori method works in tandem with this. My son will start kindergarten soon and I’d love to be able to provide a montessori environment at home. As a teacher I hope to continue my career by incorporating montessori into my lessons. I am setting up my own classes from May so this course would hugely benefit me in moving forward in my career. Thank you very much.

The opportunity to take Karen’s Montessori course would be wonderful! Every day I struggle with whether or not I’m giving my children what they need to succeed and be happy. Am I loving them enough? Am I doing too much for them? Am I giving them enough opportunities to be independent? Am I leaving them alone too much? Even with a degree in Child Development it seems like I’m constantly questioning what I’m doing, how I’m doing it, and if it’s enough. I feel like this course would give me the confidence to say that I am observing my children and giving them what they need. I live in a very rural area of Northern California and am my children’s primary caregiver. I can’t leave them to attend a program and even committing to this training has me battling with whether spending the money is what’s best for our family in our current economy. As I look to the future and the prospect of returning to work, as much as I want what is best for my children, I want to be able to offer it to my entire community as well. I think that this training would give me the skills to enhance my communities current public preschool program and that is the most rewarding of all! Thank you to all those who are working to bring Montessori to the world!

I am working in a long day care centre with a Montessori approach. I am not Montessori trained, but would love to be. I am also hoping to travel with our family and I love the Montessori approach to education and would like to homeschool our children with a Montessori approach to life

I’m homeschooling my child and am in love with Montessori methodology. I’d love to take the KHT course to gain more knowledge and structure everything in my head. I’m familiar with some of Karen’s teacher manuals and love them! Would love to go through a full course. Thank you!

I’m currently enrolled and the manuals alone are worth more the the course cost. Karen is a great teacher and offers great feedback. I can tell she teaches this course with her full attention. Love it!

As a homeschooler it’s really difficult to find affordable and qualitative products to support the Montessori method. This opportunity would help me and my children to be more confident and to thrive, all with the convenience of an on-line course. Thanks for the opportunity!

With this course I would like to provide more for my daughter as a parent. Montessori education is extremely expensive in the area so I have to do what I can – at home. The course can give me a better understanding with practical examples – plus it is nice to be able to ask questions from an experienced teacher. Good luck for everyone and thanks for the opportunity!

This would be so beneficial in teaching my daughter and any future children we hope to have. I have been reading everything I can online but a training course would be so much more helpful. Thanks for this chance!
