Wow! What an exciting giveaway! Anita and Rob Amos, Montessori parents and founders of Montessori Compass, recently returned from the American Montessori Society Annual Conference in San Francisco. They sponsored a giveaway at the conference of an iPad 2. They’re now sponsoring a second giveaway … An iPAD GIVEAWAY here at Living Montessori Now (available WORLDWIDE)!
Before we get to the giveaway, let me tell you a bit about Montessori Compass. Montessori Compass is an incredibly user-friendly, web-based software application that provides online Montessori record keeping, school management, and parent communication from any web-enabled device.
I had the opportunity to take a web demo of the site on Tuesday. Was I ever impressed! I just wished Montessori Compass would have been available when I was a Montessori teacher – and especially when I was a Montessori school owner.
Montessori Compass is designed to help Montessori teachers and schools keep records and communicate with parents easily and efficiently. It’s available for schools with infants-grade 12.
Just a few of the things you can do with Montessori Compass:
- record attendance
- create student work plans
- record individual lessons, group lessons, and notes for each child
- see classroom progress at a glance
- see where individual students are right now and where they should be going next
- place lesson plans on calendars
- share reports with specific members of your school staff
- share a directory of photos and descriptions of the most common Montessori works with parents to help them understand Montessori education better
- create and share an online photo album
- generate activity reports for each child daily or weekly
- automatically send reports to each child’s parents
- show coming events and your annual calendar
You don’t even need to be a techie to appreciate Montessori Compass. The interface is amazingly easy to use, and everything is autosaved so you can’t accidentally delete something important. Information is easy to edit with a minimum number of clicks needed to use everything. There are great templates with the site, although you can customize as well.
Montessori Compass isn’t just wonderful for teachers and schools … it’s also wonderful for Montessori parents! Montessori Compass helps you understand Montessori education through a directory of Montessori works and gives you a way to know what your child is doing at school. That makes it so much easier to support your child’s school experiences at home. If you’re a parent, you can always recommend that your child’s school sign up for Montessori Compass!
From the Montessori Compass site:
-
- School Management – Helping Montessori educators save time, money, and trees!
- Classroom Management – Spend your day focused on what you love to do … guiding young minds!
- Parent Communication – Bridging the gap between home and school!

I’d love to win for our little gal. She’s a newly minted five, and there is just SO much available for the iPad that I’d love to share with her. She has a thirst for learning “I’m curious, Mama”, which we are trying to encourage at every turn. I just know she’d love this!
I would love to win an iPad for my daughters. There are so many educational apps that I know they would love.
I would totally love to win this!!!!!! I have wanted one for a while since there are so many apps that can help with learning! I would love to have the mobile Montessori apps as well as some of the childrens books that are out there! What an amazing opportunity!!!!!!
I know someone who really needs one for her autistic child. I would love to be able to give it to her.
I’d LOVE an ipad – and actually mostly for the kids to use! I think it could be a great learning tool in some areas at certain times. Thanks for the great opportunity!
I’d love to win this for my son’s school! I LOVE Sun Grove Montessori School of Fort Pierce, Florida and think this iPad would help our school upgrade with new technology perfectly.
I’d love to find/use educational & creative aps for my kids!
I have a smart, kind and wonderful 21 month old who also happens to have an extra 21st chromosome. We use a lot of Montessori methods every day and plan to attend Montessori school when she is old enough. Currently she can read over 100 words. We would LOVE to have an IPAD to help her continue to accelerate! There are so many wonderful apps available and we will never be able to afford one on our own.
I also just did the Rafflecopter entry!
My wife and I homeschool our 5 year old and 3 year from home. They were previously in a Montessori school but we moved to an area without a good Montessori school nearby. My wife had worked tirelessly to turn our entire extra room in the basement to a finished Montessori room complete with traditional Montessori style lessons. My wife quit her job of making $70K+ a year for the education of our children. Had she kept working we could have easily afforded even the most expensive of private schools in our area. Personally, we use technology very minimally. We feel children our kids’ ages learn more and learn better from hands on. However, being able to take information and lessons on the go via an iPad 2 would be helpful. Learning in a homeschool environment very rarely means all learning happens in the home. Most lessons and activities are spent away from the home, which is the beauty of learning.
I just did the rafflecopter entry.
I would love to win so that we can try out some of the great new apps I keep seeing that are only for ipad 🙂
I would love to win the I Pad 2 to use with my 2 and 3 year old as well as to use it for lesson plans and record keeping for our home-school journey.
I would love to win so we could have the extra teaching and record keeping help!
I would use the iPad 2 for note taking and studying – I’m going back to school to earn an IBCLC (lactation consultant) certification soon!
it would be so easy for my coteacher and me to be on the same page. no more hauling the binder home to update it!
I liked te online attendance, which seemed so easy and fast!

I would love to win the ipad so I coult be able to use it with my goup of six year olds that i currently teach. I follow all the blogs with reports of great apps, great work with the ipad and am constantly jealous!
