Sponsor Spotlight – Montessori Compass!

March 20, 2012 By Deb Chitwood

The giveaway is now closed. Please see the bottom of the post right below the Rafflecopter form for the announcement of the winner!  And don’t forget the  Special Montessori Compass promotion: Sign up for Montessori Compass using the promo code LivingMontessoriNow and get a 30-day free trial and 50% discount for the first 3 months! 🙂

Wow! What an exciting giveaway! Anita and Rob Amos, Montessori parents and founders of Montessori Compass, recently returned from the American Montessori Society Annual Conference in San Francisco. They sponsored a giveaway at the conference of an iPad 2. They’re now sponsoring a second giveaway … An iPAD GIVEAWAY here at Living Montessori Now (available WORLDWIDE)!

MontessoriCompass

Before we get to the giveaway, let me tell you a bit about Montessori Compass. Montessori Compass is an incredibly user-friendly, web-based software application that provides online Montessori record keeping, school management, and parent communication from any web-enabled device.

I had the opportunity to take a web demo of the site on Tuesday. Was I ever impressed! I just wished Montessori Compass would have been available when I was a Montessori teacher – and especially when I was a Montessori school owner.

Montessori Compass is designed to help Montessori teachers and schools keep records and communicate with parents easily and efficiently. It’s available for schools with infants-grade 12.

Just a few of the things you can do with Montessori Compass:

  • record attendance
  • create student work plans
  • record individual lessons, group lessons, and notes for each child
  • see classroom progress at a glance
  • see where individual students are right now and where they should be going next
  • place lesson plans on calendars
  • share reports with specific members of your school staff
  • share a directory of photos and descriptions of the most common Montessori works with parents to help them understand Montessori education better
  • create and share an online photo album
  • generate activity reports for each child daily or weekly
  •  automatically send reports to each child’s parents
  • show coming events and your annual calendar

You don’t even need to be a techie to appreciate Montessori Compass. The interface is amazingly easy to use, and everything is autosaved so you can’t accidentally delete something important. Information is easy to edit with a minimum number of clicks needed to use everything. There are great templates with the site, although you can customize as well.

Montessori Compass isn’t just wonderful for teachers and schools … it’s also wonderful for Montessori parents! Montessori Compass helps you understand Montessori education through a directory of Montessori works and gives you a way to know what your child is doing at school. That makes it so much easier to support your child’s school experiences at home. If you’re a parent, you can always recommend that your child’s school sign up for Montessori Compass!

From the Montessori Compass site:

    • School Management – Helping Montessori educators save time, money, and trees!
    • Classroom Management – Spend your day focused on what you love to do … guiding young minds!
    • Parent Communication – Bridging the gap between home and school!

Check it out … Montessori Compass demo!

UPDATE:

It’s Tuesday morning, April 3. I enjoyed reading all 700 blog comments. And I really appreciated the 6,846 entries! I just wish you all could have won. (Where is Oprah when you need her?! 😉 )

A winner has been selected using Random.org through Rafflecopter!

The winner of the iPad 2 from Montessori Compass is Stacey B.!

I’m so happy for Stacey, who had multiple entries! (Note: Stacey, you have 48 hours to respond to my email, or a new winner will be chosen.)

The comment for Stacey’s mandatory entry (why she wanted to win) said:

“Thanks for sharing the information about the software. It seems like a really great tool. I want to win because an iPad would benefit my whole family each in different ways, but I just can’t afford to put the extra money out for one. Thanks so much for giving me a chance to win.”

CONGRATULATIONS, Stacey!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH to Montessori Compass for sponsoring the giveaway – and thank you to everyone who entered!

And great news! I have another absolutely amazing giveaway starting this morning – my 2nd blogiversary giveaway (open worldwide) sponsored  by Montessori Print Shop with 2 grand prizes of a Deluxe CD-Rom Collection (each worth $599.99) and a second-place prize of a $100 Montessori Print Shop in-store coupon! Also, the  Special Montessori Compass promotion continues: Sign up for Montessori Compass using the promo code LivingMontessoriNow and get a 14-day free trial and 50% discount for the first 3 months! 🙂

As always, thanks so much to all my blog sponsors!

I’m from Brazil and here the IPAD is so expensive that I’d have to sell a kidney to have one! LOL
And of course: I love tecnology and I’m dreaming about the IPAD for a long, long time!

I also like how it’s so earth friendly. It’s a great way to eliminate paper in the classroom.

I would love to win because I think there are lots of things that would get done easier and faster with an iPad. I would be able to go mobile, not strapped to the computer desk.

I’d love to win and join Montessori Compass, coz I am.. “an idiot from a local small Montessori school that don’t want to invest more on a Montessori training” … that’s what a great local Montessorian talked about me 🙂 .. she just doesn’t get the difficulty of being a local, small and idiot Montessorian 🙂

and checking out the site for the other entry, this is always incredibly helpful — “simply access important school information in real-time from any computer or web-enabled mobile device”. We need that for everything! 🙂
