Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel Review

January 7, 2016 By Deb Chitwood

My life as a grandmother is MUCH EASIER because of products from Little Partners (the makers of the Learning Tower). I’m excited to review another amazing product from Little Partners  … The Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel.

Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel Review

Disclosure: I received a Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel to facilitate my review. I was not required to write a positive review. My opinions are honest and my own. Also, this post contains affiliate links (at no cost to you).

My granddaughter, Zoey, and I have been in love with the Little Partners Learning Tower I reviewed in November 2014, the 3-in-1 Growing Step Stool I reviewed last April, and the Learning Tower/Art Easel Combo I reviewed in December. So I was very happy to be asked to do a review of the new Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel.

Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center EaselAbout the Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel by Little Partners

From the Little Partners site:

  • Sturdy two-sided A Frame Easel
  • Large magnetic dry erase white board on one side and chalk board on the other side.
  • Two wide shelves for storage below.
  • Paper holder and feeder for easy refill capability
  • Four Large paper clip grips can hold craft paper giving your artist additional options for drawing and painting activities
  • Two side paper clip grips for hanging freshly painted artwork to dry
  • Deep trays and pencil ledges keep paint, brushes, markers, chalk and erasers within easy reach
  • Encourages fine motor skills and creative expression.
  • Easily converts to a table-top easel
  • Includes tools necessary for assembly
  • Includes – four non-spill paint cups, one roll of paper, eraser, two large fabric storage bins.
  • Assembled dimensions 24”L x  19”W x 47”H

My Experience with the Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel

I already have the Learning Tower/Art Easel Combo, which works perfectly for the amount of space I have available for an easel, so I gave the Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel to my son and daughter-in-law for Zoey, who’s now 2 years old. My daughter-in-law was able to assemble the easel without difficulty. As with every Little Partners product I’ve used, the easel is well made, sturdy, and very high quality.

I had purchased the Melissa & Doug Easel Accessory Set so Zoey would have art materials to use with her easel. (Note: The Little Partners easel already comes with 4 paint cups, an eraser, 1 roll of paper, and 2 large storage bins.)

Using the Little Partners Chalkboard

First Zoey checked out the chalkboard. Even though it doesn’t have the feel of a traditional chalkboard, it worked well with the Melissa & Doug chalk. It also erased easily.

Using the Little Partners Whiteboard

Then Zoey tried the dry erase board. It worked well, but it’s hard to get the dry erase marker out of a white board, any white board. (This isn’t because a problem with the Little Partners white board. I just haven’t found a washable dry erase marker that I’m happy with.) Only one marker comes with the Melissa & Doug set. Instead of using that, I ‘d recommend buying dry erase crayons, which are inexpensive and will both wipe off the whiteboard and wash out of clothes easily. The whiteboard is also magnetic, so it would work well with any magnetic objects.

Using the Little Partners Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel for Painting

The paper clips work well for holding paper on the easel. I love that there are two side clips to hold artwork that’s drying. There’s an extra set of paint cups with the Melissa & Doug set. Because the Little Partners ones work so well and fit into the easel, Zoey will probably use the Melissa & Doug ones for playdough. I like that the Melissa & Doug paint brushes and paints come in the same colors as the Little Partners paint cups … a nice color matching activity. I appreciate the Little Partners storage containers for storing a wide variety of art activities.

Zoey loved her painting experience. (To work with paints, I always use aprons with sleeves for toddlers. We have a bib with sleeves that works well for babies through 2 year olds.)

If you have both the Little Partners Learning Tower with easel and this easel, you’d even be able to have a playdate with kids working side by side. Or you can use the Learning Tower easel for magnetic objects (like I often do) and this one for painting.

The Deluxe Learn and Play Art Center Easel  is another product I highly recommend because of its high-quality construction and versatility in encouraging creative activities.

My three children consistently make imaginative forts, restaurants, ships and shops… This art center is PERFECT
for the oldest who writes signs, menus, and ejections
Our second fellow loves to paint window scenes to put on the fort walls and windows
And our little girl, our youngest just can’t go a day without packing, unpacking and repacking her craft supplies!

I can confidently say that it’d be used daily and we can provide a candid commentary from the wise (and humorous sometimes opinionated!)
perspectives of Mom, Dad & children ages 2-9yo!

I found a lot of good products that I can use in my Family Childcare that the children will like and use and that are affordable for Family childcare providers.

I would LOVE to win–I’ll say it’s for the kids, but…;)

This looks perfect to use in my Family Childcare as it is hard to find products that we can use that will hold up.
