There are so many fun activities you can do with a caterpillar-butterfly unit … and what a great way to introduce insects and metamorphosis!

    Such a full unit! We have a ton of caterpillars in our area in the summer and enjoy catching them. I’ll have to revisit this post in a few weeks.

    Deb, This is such an amazing collection of resources! Sharing on my facebook page right now. We have just finished observing our caterpillars as they emerged from the chrysalis state. This week we will learn more about our butterflies and then release them.

    Such wonderful ideas! My little man asked me where the caterpillar goes once it becomes a butterfly. (so cute- he’s 2 1/2 and so I answered him the best that I could) I’m glad that he has these questions and is thinking!

    Love all of this! I just ordered our caterpillars. My son got the grow your own butterfly kit for his birthday gift from a friend. I thought that made such an awesome gift!
