Many adults aren’t comfortable teaching elementary language skills. Today, I’m reviewing the Montessori Print Shop elementary key experiences materials, which make elementary language concepts much clearer!
Disclosure: Montessori Print Shop is one of my blog sponsors. I was given a copy of the Montessori Print Shop Elementary Key Experiences Bundle. My opinion is honest and my own. This post also contains some affiliate links (at no cost to you).
Montessori Elementary Key Experiences Bundle
Montessori Print Shop has always been one of my very favorite Montessori material suppliers. And Montessori Print Shop materials are high-quality materials covering a huge range of areas. The materials are reasonably priced to begin with, but the bundles are even better deals.
The Elementary Key Experiences Bundle from Montessori Print Shop is valued at $44.00 and priced as a bundle at $35.
From Montessori Print Shop online store:
In the Montessori method, teaching grammar through “key experiences” is vital because it allows children to grasp the structure of language rather than merely memorizing rules. This approach improves their logical thinking, enhances their ability to express themselves clearly, and helps them develop strong communication skills.
This bundle is suitable for lower elementary (grades 1,2,3).
Includes the following:
- step-by-step instructions on the presentations
- diagrams of the presentation layouts
- printable cards for the presentations
- instructions for extension lessons
- printable materials for extension lessons
The following key experiences are included:
- Grammar Mechanics
- Antonyms
- Compound Words
- Homographs
- Homonyms
- Homophones
- Prefixes
- Suffixes
- Synonyms
- Word Families
To view the contents of each material, please visit our Elementary Key Experiences section.
All files are in PDF format. The download is a zip file you must ‘unzip’ before using the individual PDFs.
While the Elementary Key Experiences Bundle is listed as being for grades 1, 2, and 3, there are many activities that are perfect for both younger and older kids (and even adults)!
For example, the Grammar Mechanics Key Experiences includes presentations that would be great reviews for elementary ages on up!
Grammar and mechanics serve as the foundation of language, providing the structure and rules that enable effective communication.
Includes the following step-by-step presentations:
- capitalization
- period
- question mark
- exclamation point
- apostrophe
- comma
- quotation marks
- hyphen

Antonym Materials from Montessori Print Shop
I’m on the homeschooling team of Caleb, my 7-year-old grandson. He does a great job with language concepts in general, but these materials were wonderful for consolidating his knowledge and giving him some new vocabulary. I love that each key experience introduction tells the origin of the word. For example, the antonym key experience says “The word ‘antonym’ comes from the Greek word ‘antonymum’ which means opposed to the name.”
Caleb said he knew opposites but hadn’t heard the word “antonym.” He was interested in hearing where the word originated. At the top of the photo, I showed the main presentation pages, which are extremely helpful! I also appreciate that there are printables to go with the presentations. That makes presenting the concepts so much easier! Using small objects is recommended when giving the presentation, but pictures are provided if you don’t have the small objects.
There’s also a control page with the layout that the child will write about in their language folder. The presentation says “Ask the children to record this experience in their Language Folder. It should include labels and a picture/diagram.”
Synonyms Key Experience
From the Montessori Print Shop Online Store:
Includes the following:
- step-by-step instructions on the presentation
- diagram of the presentation layout
- printable photo cards for the presentation
- instructions for 3 extension lessons
- printable materials for 3 extension lessons
Checking His Work with Synonyms
Caleb and I also did work with the synonyms key experience. We used objects for bucket, puppy, kid, and rabbit.
Caleb hadn’t been introduced to the concept of synonyms and again was interested in the origins of the word. This said: “The word ‘synonym’ comes from the Greek word ‘synonumos’ which means same name.”
There’s SO MUCH MORE in the Key Experiences Bundle, which can be explored and reviewed as needed!
The Elementary Key Experiences Bundle from Montessori Print Shop is an amazing bundle that can be used over and over again! As I said, it’s valued at $44 and priced as a bundle at $35.
If you have children who are ages 3-6, I can’t recommend enough getting the Montessori Print Shop teaching manuals. They have clear instructions for teaching the entire primary language sequence. You can read my review of the primary teaching manuals here.
