The Montessori Grammar Farm for Learning Grammar the Hands-on, Fun Way

March 20, 2018 By Deb Chitwood

I can’t think of a better way to introduce grammar than through the Montessori grammar farm. It’s hands-on learning, and it can even make learning grammar fun.

The Montessori Grammar Farm for Learning Grammar the Hands-on, Fun Way

Montessori Daoshi tells more about the purposes of the Montessori grammar farm.

Yes, buying a classroom Montessori grammar farm can be very expensive. But there are inexpensive options that allow any homeschool or classroom to have a grammar farm. You can choose the type of farm you want according to your space and how much use you expect it to get.

Grammar Farms You Can Purchase (and What I’m Using)

If you want to purchase a grammar farm, you can use almost any type of farm set.

Farm Set with Barn and Animals on Amazon

I’ve started collecting the Schleich farm set and animals even though it’s more expensive than many of the others because it will get a huge amount of use by the grandkids at my house. I grew up on a farm, and my parent’s farm is already a very special place for my 4-year-old granddaughter, Zoey. Zoey loves the Schleich farm for dramatic play. We’ve also used it for matching farm animals and cards.

The Schleich animals are my favorites for babies and toddlers, so my new grandbabies will be using the animals that are large enough to be safe for them when they’re babies and toddlers.

They’ll all use the farm for grammar work with the Montessori Print Shop grammar printables (go to Montessori Print Shop and then search for “farm game labels”), so I’m anticipating about 15 years of use by the time all my grandkids are past the age for it. Later, it can be passed on to a new generation!

Examples of Montessori Grammar Farms

Here are some examples of Montessori grammar farms from around the blogosphere. I love the variety!

Thanks for all resources. It inspired my blog post on grammar farm. I have a Lego farm (in deference to my two boys who love building and breaking, and re-building stuff).
