Celebrating Stages of a Woman’s Life with Ellie Activewear

June 27, 2013 By Deb Chitwood

Celebrating Stages of a Woman's Life with Ellie ActivewearThis is the day I get to share my exciting news with the world … I’m going to enter a new stage of life soon! In November, I’ll become a grandma!!! My son, Will, and my lovely daughter-in-law, Chea, are expecting their first child! Needless to say, I’m SOOOO excited!!!

Disclosure: Christina, Chea, and I received clothes from Ellie. All opinions here are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Today, I want to share a project my daughter, Christina, Chea, and I have been working on. Christina and I are both Ellie Ambassadors (Christina’s an ambassador through FitBodyFullLife.com. I’m an ambassador through BitsofPositivity.com). Christina is a fitness expert, so it’s natural for her to enjoy working out. Chea is a skating coach and sport psychology consultant, so she’s used to working out as well. I found that workouts needed to become an important part of my life, too. (See my Keeping Fit at 57 post.)

Christina is an athlete and dancer and is capable of lots of cool moves beyond my capabilities. She’s our usual model for Ellie reviews. You can see my previous reviews of Ellie activewear at Bits of Positivity: My Daughter and I Love Ellie Activewear!, Love Ellie Fitness Fashions, and Ellie Activewear for Different Style Preferences.

You can see Christina’s previous reviews (which include descriptions of the outfits) at Fit Body Full Life: Fitness Fun with Ellie Activewear, Fitness Fun with Ellie Activewear at Balboa Park, and Fitness Fun with Ellie Activewear at UTC.

Christina and I did a photo shoot at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs at the beginning of June when Christina was in town for the wedding of one of her best friends. (They were close friends ever since their first ballet class together at age 7.) Christina was the photographer for Chea’s photo shoot at a playground (in honor of Chea’s upcoming motherhood) in San Diego. For detailed descriptions of each outfit, read Christina’s review at Fit Body Full Life: Fitness Fun with Ellie Activewear in Colorado and California.

Christina works hard to be healthy and fit. She has Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, which causes its own challenges. You can read her inspiring series here: 6-Month Nutrition and Fitness Experiment and The Relax Day Experiment.

Chea is a former figure skater who maintains a healthy lifestyle while working as a skating coach, sport psychology consultant, and neurofeedback practitioner. She often works out with Christina and even supported Christina in her 6-month experiment by eating sugar free (except that Chea allowed honey and agave nectar in her diet).

I wore my outfit for this review along with my outfit from Christina’s and my April review. I modeled it here to show that it works well for a wide range of ages. (I love that the famous Kissing Camels is behind and above me in the photo on the right.)

Even though I don’t work out as intensely as Christina and Chea (when Chea isn’t pregnant), I value fitness. As a grandma, fitness will be more important for me than ever … I want to stay healthy and keep up with my grandkids!

I would love to win Ellie Activewear pieces because they look fantastic and I am trying to stay in shape as my body ages without my permission.

Other than yoga pants that were once worn to yoga classes (that I really need to return to), but now have become daily wear since I’ve resigned from my job as a school counselor to be an at-home mom, I have no activewear. Last purchase was when I was single and took time for fitness classes. A recent family trip to a sports complex that involved a challenging laser tag course, brought me to the realization that though I’ve stayed thin through managing a busy family and eating healthy, I was not in the physical shape I used to be. Looks like chasing an active 2 year old in my 40s is not enough cardio as I once thought. Time for Mama to take care of her body and new activewear could be a great incentive to start now!

I am converting my family into a more healthy, active group of people. Every one is on board. Only problem is, I have no workout attire. Not even a pair of sweats. 🙂 I have Jeans and slacks. I would absolutely love to try your products!!

I have never had great workout clothing and these are so cute and look so comfortable! These would be perfect to get my activewear collection going!

I would choose the tempt me tank and the solar flare leggings i think they would be really cute together and Ive been working out a lot lately I could really use these! 🙂

  18. Christina Y. says

    July 1, 2013 at 7:12 pm

I’d love to win this because I don’t have many pieces of active wear. It gets pretty tedious when I have to constantly launder two pieces of clothing because I want to work out! 😛

  19. Michelle says

    July 1, 2013 at 7:03 am

I want to win because i need more active wear! i feel like a new outfit or new sneaks are just as motivating to get in work outs as good music 🙂

activewear is so comfortable, all that i wear around the house and shopping
