Goodnight Moon Resources and Activities

May 21, 2013 By Deb Chitwood 20 Comments

Goodnight Moon Resources and ActivitiesMy kids are adults already, and I’m still in love with Goodnight Moon. Now I’m looking forward to the joy of reading Goodnight Moon to my future grandkids! (2015 Update: My granddaughter, Zoey, LOVES Goodnight Moon!)

Last week was Children’s Book Week, and I published a few Montessori-inspired Goodnight Moon activities in my Montessori-Inspired Literature-Based Activities for Preschoolers. In honor of Goodnight Moon author Margaret Wise Brown‘s birthday on May 23, I want to share more Goodnight Moon resources.

Today, I’m sharing links to Goodnight Moon free printables and activities from around the blogosphere. Even though not all the printables and activities in this post are Montessori activities, many of them would fit well in a Montessori-inspired Goodnight Moon unit.

Of course, Goodnight Moon is a favorite at our house, from my own childhood and now of both of my boys. So many great ideas here for this wonderful book.

I cannot believe there is so much goodnight moon paraphernalia. I have 6 children and it was the favorite book of all of them. I now have 4 grandkids and the tradition is continuing

The CT Children’s Museum in New Haven, CT has a Good Night Moon room. It’s a replica of the room in the book. It’s awesome!
