You don’t need to be a Montessori teacher or Montessori homeschooler to appreciate Safari Ltd. TOOBS and Life Cycles, although they are wonderful for creating Montessori-inspired activities. Safari Ltd. products are perfect for parents of young children. They’re also great if you’re a homeschooler or teacher who wants to give your children and/or students hands-on learning activities which work well for multiple ages.
In case you aren’t familiar with Safari Ltd. products, they’re award-winning miniature collectibles in many themes (perfect for unit studies). The Safari Ltd. sculptors work closely with zoos and museums to create detailed, lifelike molds from which each small plastic model is made. The replicas are all hand painted, phthalate-free, and safety tested. Suggested age is 3+.

I just looked at the new items on the Safari ltd site, and the Safariology science Solar system set looks really neat!
TOOBs have the ability to open up entire worlds of play I don’t always know my kids are capable of putting together. They’re perfect for play at home, but also in the car or on the airplane or train when we’re going to visit grandparents. I love these! Totally worth the $10-12 I spend on them.

You can explain it a lot but it helps to see it.
My children love the space, Dino fossil, wild animal and shark toobs that they have, and play with them constantly. I’d love to get my son more for his birthday this month, and am sure they’d love the life cycles too.
We’ve never used these before, but I think they would complement live studies beautifully. My 3 and 5 year olds want to touch and handle everything (not such a good idea with tadpoles and tiny sprouts) and this would satisfy that urge as well as give some anticipation of the stages to come. What an excellent tool!
