The Structure of the KHT Montessori Online Course with Class Forum Example and 12-Month Syllabus
If you wonder about how the course is structured, check out this information by Karen Tyler about the forum based classroom: “Let’s be honest here, most of us are very busy with family, outside jobs, etc. We also all live in many different time zones. Most “virtual class rooms” require you to log in at a specific time to be part of a live webinar/class. Self-paced online programs do not offer the personal direction and discussion with a teacher nor classmates. We have created a Forum Based Classroom that can be accessed any day of the week any time day or night. I discovered Montessori when my now 9 year old son was 3, however I didn’t have much knowledge about it. I really like how it provides opportunities for children to develop at their own pace, especially children with additional needs. I would like to take this course so I can use the Montessori method to support my 2 year olds learning at home.
I have been falling down the Montessori rabbit hole for a few years now. I have read every book I could get my hand on about Maria Montessori and Montessori schooling. I am a traditionally trained early childhood teacher. I’ve received my bachelor’s in early childhood education and my master’s in reading education. I currently work for a public Montessori school in Tennessee. I was initially hired because I have a Pre-k endorsment on my license. I knew very little about the Montessori way and within a few months quickly fell in love with all it stood for! I’ve had in house training with certified Montessori teachers but that was still few and far between. I want to continue my education by becoming Montessori certified and I feel this online program will help get me started!
My love affair with Montessori began 5 years ago . There was an add in a early childhood newsletter for assistant training. I took the training but then a job change for my husband moved us away before I could put my training into practice. This training was expensive and not extensive or comprehensive enough to make me feel confident in fully implementing the Montessori Method. I would love to element KTH into my Montessori Inspired Home Preschool program. The daily progress I see with my students age 10 months -5 years amazes me . I am truly blessed to be Mrs.Deena to them . I have ten years before I retire and feel that this training might just be the key to keeping me thriving and passionate in my live’s work

I would most like to learn Math, but language is a very close as well. I want to learn more about the methods used for math, the reasoning behind the methods and how to teach them and build on them for my older children.
This would be an amazing opportunity for my homeschool. I have 4 children aged 11months, 4 years, 6 years, and 9 years. My two older children attended Montessori and when we moved they had to go to the local public school. Within a month I had to pull them out and homeschool. They would angry, frustrated, and the love of learning and excitement I saw when they attend Montessori was fading. I was able to attend parent informational nights and learning about Montessori math materials. I loved it!! So I’m implementing all I know about Montessori, slowly making DIY materials and buying what we can when we can. My children love school again and they are teaching me!! I plan to attend official Montessori training when I’m able and open a Montessori daycare. I love children and I love learning and I love showing children about learning too!
