I’m a real fan of back-to-school celebrations. They can be a wonderful way to start the school year whether your kids attend public school, private school, or homeschool.
As homeschoolers, my family started each school year with a celebration. We did our celebration on the first day of the new school year, but you could celebrate a bit later if needed. The main thing is finding a way to make the new school year special and memorable. My children are now 24 and 29, and we still treasure the memories from our first-day-of-school celebrations. Such wonderful ideas!! We still have a few weeks before we go back to school, but I always take my daughter to the book store to pick out a book for the first day of school.
