Hi Deb. I have been interested in Montessori since I was a child, but I never had the opportunity to attend one myself. I remember my parents driving me past a Montessori school on my way to my ‘normal’ school (where i was incredibly unhappy) and i would wonder what it was like in there. I now have my own daughter and since we live in a rural part of South Africa there aren’t any Montessori Schools in the area. I have been wanting to give my daughter a Montessori education, but before i read your post ‘The overwhelmed mom’s guide to Montessori homeschooling’ I had no idea where to start. That post was the best thing that I ever read. I have now done the Crash Course and have signed up for another online course to expand my skills. My daughter is reaping the benefits of the Montessori Method and i couldn’t be more pleased! Living in a rural area, we make constant use of the Montessori Print Shop materials, as it is so accessible. This prize would mean the world to us, as i plan to homeschool my daughter through elementary school (possibly beyond)…she is only 2 now, so we have a loooong road ahead.
