Montessori-Inspired Winter Playdough Activities

January 14, 2013 By Deb Chitwood 30 Comments

Winter is a great time for playdough activities with either regular playdough or snow dough. You can easily set up a Montessori-inspired playdough activity on a tray or as a separate playdough table. For ideas on creating Montessori-inspired playdough activities in general, see my original playdough roundup: Montessori-Inspired Playdough Activities 101.

Montessori-Inspired Winter Playdough Activities

Following are some fun ideas for Montessori-inspired playdough/cloud dough activities using a non-holiday winter theme. The activities that might not be strictly “Montessori” would still work very well with a Montessori-inspired playdough activity tray or table.

I am looking forward to incorporating many of the ideas you have been sharing recently into our Arctic and Antarctic Unit. Today’s ideas will be great additions. Just waiting for the temperature to go below 80!

I love this post! We defrosted a freezer yesterday (in Houston) and the kids played in more snow than they’ve seen in years!

Great round-up! We love playdough here. I made that pine-scented dough just before Christmas and broke out the bears and pincones, acrons etcetera…..and they are still asking for it almost every day. It smells so good that I have no objections (not that I would anyway).
