Here’s my 6-year-old grandson, Caleb, working with the Camping Preposition Nomenclature Cards. Caleb read and matched the preposition nomenclature cards, printed his favorite sentence, and used our grammar symbol stencil to add the symbol for prepositions. Caleb really liked choosing his favorite sentence and using the stencil. (Note: The stencil I got on Etsy isn’t available right now, but I like the Amazing Child products on Amazon. They have a similar grammar stencil.)

• Provides visuals and vocabulary work related to cooking while camping

S’mores Consonant Blending Word Building Activity

 

For children working on the blue series, you could use the S’mores Consonant Blending Word Building Activity in a variety of ways. I used it here along with the print movable alphabet and a tent image from the pack. There are many more words available! You could have a more advanced activity where the child has to sort out the letters for a variety of words and build them. That would work especially well for advanced word building, even for older children.

It’s so helpful for children to learn about poisonous and non-poisonous plants when exploring nature. The open book is Trees, Leaves, Flowers and Seeds: A Visual Encyclopedia of the Plant Kingdom. Caleb was especially interested in knowing which plants were poisonous.

Hiking Trails by Continent Sort

Caleb loves geography, and he enjoyed sorting hiking trails by continent!
