February 13, 2022 By Deb Chitwood Leave a Comment

Montessori grammar is amazing, and I love finding new resources for teaching it. I’m excited about the new Valentine’s Day grammar printables for preschool through elementary from Every Star Is Different!

Montessori Valentine's Day Grammar Printables for Preschool Through Elementary

Disclosure: I’ve been given a copy of these materials to review. My opinions are honest and my own. This post contains affiliate links (at no cost to you).

There are 400+ pages of printables in the Valentine’s Day Grammar Bundle!

Here are the Valentine’s Day Grammar Printables Available in the Valentine’ s Day Grammar Bundle for Preschool Through Elementary from Every Star Is Different:

There are ten individual printable packs included in the bundle and one bonus. You can find links to each printable pack at the bottom of the Valentine’s Day Grammar Bundle page.

Montessori-Inspired Valentine’s Day Grammar Activities Using the Printables from Every Star Is Different

I’ve loved all the materials I’ve used from Every Star Is Different.

We haven’t had the chance to do a lot with the Valentine’s Day grammar printables yet, but the packs look fabulous! The printables we’ve used have been great! Here’s a bit about the printables along with what we’ve done so far.

The Non-Printable Materials I Use with Grammar Activities:

3D Grammar Symbols Tray with Montessori Grammar Symbol Descriptions

3D Grammar Symbols Tray with Montessori Grammar Symbol Descriptions

  • I use the Kid Advance 3D Wooden Grammar Symbols with 10 Trays because they’re the closest to the Nienhuis 3D grammar symbols and are lovely but much less expensive. (Note: You really only need 9 grammar symbols (without the number symbol), so I remove the 10th symbol and tray, which allows me to add some of the Every Star Is Different Cards (which fit very well!). Right now, this set isn’t on Amazon, but there are a number of 3D wooden grammar symbol sets available even less expensively. I haven’t seen the sets personally, so I can’t make a recommendation.
  • I use the Kid Advance 3D Wooden Grammar Symbols with 10 Trays. You’ll find Elite Montessori’s wooden grammar symbols with box on Amazon, although I haven’t used that set personally. (I have had good luck with Elite Montessori products on Amazon.) These aren’t essential. Even Neinhuis has paper grammar symbols. If you get the Every Star Is Different Montessori Grammar Bundle, you’ll have printables to use for your grammar symbol work.
  • This is the grammar symbol stencil I use, although it’s sold out right now. You might be able to find one you like on Etsy or this option on Amazon.

Valentine’s Day Grammar: Nouns Printable Pack

Valentine's Day Grammar Nouns Printable Pack from Every Star Is Different

Valentine’s Day Grammar: Nouns Printable Pack (66 pages)

This is one of the largest printable packs included in the Valentine’s Day Bundle. It includes a variety of activities that teach about the different types of nouns, singular versus plural nouns, abstract nouns, collective nouns, and so much more!

Identifying Nouns in the I Spy Nouns Photo

My almost-4-year-old grandson, Caleb, is already doing well with word building and reading. I used the noun pack to give the very simplest introduction to grammar. The pack includes I Spy Nouns pictures for the child to find nouns. I simply asked Caleb if he could find specific types  of nouns in a couple of the pictures. The first picture we looked at had a father, daughter, and valentine card. I asked if Caleb could find a person. After he identified the girl, I said, “Girl is a noun.” I did the same with the place and valentine card. I showed him the symbol for the noun as well.

This photo was our second image. Again, I  said, “Can  you  find a thing in this picture?” When he identified a heart, I’d say that heart is a noun. There are a number of photos included in this activity, so it’s easy to find images that would appeal to your child.

At Every Star Is Different, you’ll find a post with more Valentine’s Day Noun Activities for Preschoolers with Free Printables.

Adding the Symbols for Article, Adjective, and Noun

Many phrases, sentences, and photos in the grammar packs are very appealing, which adds to the interest value of the  packs. This  is a simple activity matching phrases to pictures and article, adjective, and noun to the words.

The Valentine’s Day Grammar: Interjections Printable Pack

Valentine’s Day Grammar: Interjections Printable Pack (24 pages)

The interjections pack introduces the symbol, how to use the concept with sentences, and then goes a step further in showing emotions related to interjections. This is the pack we focused on the most right now.

Working with Interjection Clip Cards

Working with Interjection Clip Cards

My 8-year-old granddaughter, Zoey, really enjoyed working with the interjection cards! We used the interjection clip cards, and Zoey was very interested in matching the interjection to the picture.

Zoey also matched interjections with sentences, wrote her favorites in cursive, and used our grammar symbol stencil to add the grammar symbols. Again, she was very interested in reading the interjections and seeing how they matched the photos.

Valentine’s Day Grammar Environment Printable Pack

Valentine’s Day Grammar Environments Printable Pack (38 pages)

This printable pack includes two environments:

  • The Bakery
  • The Flower Shop
Nouns and verbs come in both singular and plural forms. I love these types of printables because they can be used to create a high-interest grammar activity!

Working with 3-Day Parts of Speech and Montessori Grammar Cards

Working with 3-Day Parts of Speech and Montessori Grammar Cards

In 2018, when the Montessori-Inspired Intro to Grammar Printable Pack was published, Zoey and I did some of the introductory grammar games previously along with naming work using the Montessori grammar farm.

For this work, I used materials from the Montessori-Inspired Intro to Grammar Printable Pack with the wooden 3D grammar symbols to give an overview of grammar and the work that was to come!

Again, there are 400+ pages of printables in the Valentine’s Day Grammar Bundle!
